Menswear Market Pulse
Real-time menswear intelligence dashboard tracking trends across brands and markets.
The Problem
Menswear moves fast but the signal is scattered. Trend reports are paywalled, social data is noisy, and by the time a trend hits mainstream retail coverage, it's too late to act on it. There's no single dashboard that tracks what's actually moving across brands and markets in real time.
The Approach
Built an intelligence dashboard that aggregates signals from multiple sources: social mention velocity, search trend data, retail availability shifts, and editorial coverage. The dashboard ranks brands and categories by momentum, not just volume.
Key decisions:
- Focused on rate-of-change metrics rather than absolute numbers
- Built domain-specific sentiment filters to separate hype from genuine demand shifts
- Designed the UI around daily check-ins: what moved today, what's trending this week
The Outcome
Live dashboard at menswear.michaelpyon.com. Tracks 50+ brands across streetwear, tailoring, and contemporary categories. The momentum scoring surfaces emerging trends 2-3 weeks before they show up in mainstream coverage.
Reflection
The hardest part was defining "signal" vs. "noise" in fashion data. A brand trending on TikTok doesn't always mean sales are moving. The momentum algorithm went through 4 iterations before the rankings felt trustworthy. Next step would be adding price intelligence to correlate trend signals with actual market movement.
